Why I built Foresight ERP
Why mid-market finance teams need capable software they can shape around their own work.
The work behind the numbers
Finance is about more than record keeping. Data is spread across multiple systems and arrives in different formats. Finance has to turn it into figures the business can use, document why things were recorded the way they were, and report the result to stakeholders.
When someone questions a number, the team needs to find its source and explain how it was posted to the ledger. That takes longer when the source is in one system and the calculation is in a spreadsheet.
A recruitment agency might record placements in applicant-tracking software and hours in a timesheet system. A retailer might take sales through a point-of-sale (POS) system and an e-commerce platform. Finance has to reconcile those records with the ledger before it can report on them.
The mid-market software choice
I have worked with businesses that have sophisticated systems and businesses where finance staff have to work around the limits of their software. Mid-market businesses should not be stuck choosing between software that cannot handle their work and software they cannot afford.
Enterprise ERP systems cost too much for many of them. Implementation and consultancy add to the price, and the finance team has to put time into the project as well. Smaller-business software costs less, but a growing business can outgrow what it is able to do.
Why Foresight ERP
That is why I built Foresight ERP.
ERP systems should not dictate a procedure for every accounting task. Accountants need to work in the way their business requires and record the result in the ledger. That is how I have approached the accounting section of Foresight ERP.
A business can build automation workflows around its own processes and design its own reporting dashboards. The software does not have to decide in advance how every team's work should run.
We're inviting finance teams to book a demo. Bring a process your current system makes difficult, and we can look at how you would handle it in Foresight ERP.
